Isuzu Ute Australia has issued a recall of 149,049 examples of its 2020-2024 D-Max and MU-X.

The recall cites a potential issue with the Engine Control Module (ECM) which may incorrectly reduce the engine speed. This could cause the engine to stall, resulting in a loss of motive power.

The recall states that, “A loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

Isuzu Ute Australia has stated they will contact affected vehicle owners in writing, requesting they make an appointment with their nearest dealer to have the ECM inspected and updated, free of charge.

Owners after more information can contact Isuzu Ute Australia’s customer relations department by emailing info@iua.net.au or calling 1300 147 898

The original recall notice, which includes a full list of affected models, can be found here.

This is probably the best channel I have ever seen when reviewing vehicles. New or old. The honesty is so appreciated. I’ve been a mechanic for 20 years and I find it very informative when looking for a vehicle for my daughter. Keep up the awesome work.
